OpenShift

Correlate OpenShift alerts

OpenShift is a Docker and Kubernetes-based container application platform. Created by Red Hat, it enables enterprise teams to securely and easily build, deploy, and manage container-based applications in public or private infrastructure. SignifAI automatically correlates monitoring events throughout your entire OpenShift stack.

Requirements

In order to integrate OpenShift with SignifAI, you just need...

  • OpenShift administrator permissions (the dedicated-cluster-admin role - see this doc for more information)
  • CLI access to your cluster (the ability to run oc commands - see this doc for more information)

If you haven't already, read this doc about setting up monitoring for your cluster with the Prometheus Alertmanager.

If you're just using Hawkular for monitoring...

...you'll need to integrate with SignifAI's REST API.

Integrating with Prometheus Alertmanager

  1. Set up your alert manager config file by running: ./alertmanager -config.file=simple.yml

  2. In the <webhook_config> section, add to the url: line your SignifAI web collector for Prometheus webhook.

  3. Reload the Prometheus Alertmanager service.

A configuration reload is triggered by sending a SIGHUP to the process or by sending an HTTP POST request to the /-/reload endpoint.

Active Inspector® Installation

In order to collect specific data points from your time-series streams, it is required to install our Agent based sensors.
To actively collect data points from your Prometheus cluster, please refer to the SignifAI Prometheus Exporters Collector.
